Wine Casks Hotel in the NetherlandsIn the northern port town of Stavoren in the Netherlands, there is a very special hotel, in which the rooms are not made of concrete，but of salvaged wine casks.

These old casks came from a chateau in Switzerland and each used to be filled with 14,500 liters of Beaujolais wine. After fulfilling their duties in wine-making, they were purchased by the hotel and converted into hotel rooms. With its strength and airtight seals, the old oak casks make excellent rooms.

Each cask room holds the standard amenities of a modest hotel double room, some even equipped with a bathroom and a sitting room. Rates for a cask room are from 74-119 Euros a night, with up to 75% discount during the off season. If you go in the wintertime, a wine cask room can cost as little as 18 Euros a night, cheaper than most hotels.

Nowadays visitors from all around the world are flowing into the town of Stavoren to experience sleeping in one of these special and eco-friendly cask rooms.
