Travelling in U.S.A. (part 1)
by Li Boshan

During winter holidays this February, my parents and I went to U.S.A. that I had long dreamed of. In 2011, the Mozart Class went to a wonderful summer camp in San Diego, U.S.A. This year, it was time for me to enjoy the magic of U.S.A.

We planned to go to Disneyland in Los Angeles, Grand Canyon in Flag Staff, the Sea World in San Diego, Princeton University and New York.

We took a troublesome 12-hour flight from Beijing to L.A. at noon on January 31. During the flight, I watched many cartoons and gradually went to sleep when it was dark. I woke up by daybreak and saw the land of U.S.A. through the porthole. On the high gentle mountains grew thick dark green forests, through which frozen lakes and streams wandered. It must be very cold. When the plane was about to land down at about half past nine, I was very excited. I saw lush trees on orderly streets and thickly dotted houses in blocks, which glossed in brilliant sunshine like a huge circuit board.

We went to Disneyland that I had long dreamed of as soon as we got off the plane. I felt warmwhen I got in because it was similar to the one in Hong Kong. And it was warm indeed because my mother and I still wore sweaters and wool trousers while people there wore short-sleeved shirts and shorts. I sweat so much that I really wanted to change my clothes, but my mother told me that we only took winter clothes.

In Star Tours of Disneyland, I went to the space world by spacecraft, which made me a little nervous because fight and collision were everywhere. Then I went to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. With not many people waiting in line, we went into the submarine 10 minutes later. There was a magic world under water where corals were multicolored in the sunshine. I played many other games but what impressed me most was Space Mountain. My mother and I got on the spacecraft after waiting for about 40 minutes. The spacecraft startedas soon as we fastened the safety belts. In the beginning it went slowly and I kept my eyes open. When it acceleratedandstarted to rotate on and on, my body kept shaking with my eyes closed and my ears covered. I didn’t dare to open my eyesuntil it stopped. I was almost unable to stand up. Space Mountain was the most exciting game that I had ever played. Luckily, I didn’t choose to play in California Adventure Park at the opposite side because it seemed thatI dared play nothing there.
