On the morning of June 20, 2026, the SHCC Creative Music Department held its annual performance showcase. The event was divided into four themed segments, with each class taking the stage to present their unique works.
🌍 Around the World — Haydn Class (Senior Kindergarten)
The Haydn Class opened the show with their themed piece "Let's Travel Around the Earth." The performance blended languages and musical styles from different countries, showcasing the charm of singing and movement across diverse cultures.

🧒 A World of Childlike Wonder — Bach Class (Junior Kindergarten)
The Bach Class followed with the theme "You, Me, and Everyone." Full of energy and charm, the little ones used body movements to mimic different shapes and forms, while their clear, tender voices conveyed the pure beauty of childhood.
🎶 Singing Toward the Horizon — Schubert 1A/B Class (Grade 1)
The two Grade 1 classes joined forces for the theme "Singing Dreams into the Distance." They presented a collection of classic children's songs from both China and abroad. Building on their foundational singing skills, the students advanced into ensemble techniques such as ostinato accompaniment and moving canon, developing their collaborative awareness and overall stage presence.
🎤 Songs of Joy — Schubert 2A/B Class (Grade 2)
As the oldest members of the Creative Music Department, the Grade 2 classes delivered the theme "Songs from All Corners, Building Childhood Dreams." Their performance was the most dynamic of the day, incorporating song and dance, multi-part harmonies, choreographed formations, and creative props — bringing the concept of "moving chorus" truly to life.

🏅 Awards & A Big Announcement
At the end of the showcase, SHCC presented Perfect Attendance Awards and Outstanding Student Awards to each class — two honors established since the founding of SHCC to recognize dedication and effort.
The event also brought an exciting announcement: after years of classroom development by the Creative Music Department faculty, the book series Voices on the Heart: Children's Singing Enlightenment has been officially published by Shanghai Music Publishing House. Designed for children with zero musical background, the series features fun singing games, rhythmic activities, and creative exercises.

Starting from the 2026 academic year in September, the Haydn, Bach, and Schubert 1A/B classes will fully adopt this new textbook series — turning it into a portable "music treasure box" that accompanies every child on their joyful musical journey.
